What Causes a Gurgling Toilet and How to Fix It Safely

Every sewer rehabilitation project in Sydney follows our proven 5-step process. Sewer lines require particular care due to their depth, diameter and connection complexity — our process is specifically designed for sewer pipe relining.

Step 1 of 5

Step 1: CCTV Sewer Line Inspection & Diagnosis

We insert a high-definition CCTV camera through your sewer line to map the full extent of damage. This identifies root intrusion points, corrosion zones, joint displacement, belly sags and any structural collapse. For sewer pipes, this inspection is critical — it determines whether relining, patch repair or full replacement is the right solution. You will see the footage in real time. Step 2: High-Pressure Hydro-Jetting

Sewer lines accumulate heavy root mass, grease buildup and calcite scale that must be completely removed before relining. We use high-pressure hydro-jetting to scour the pipe interior clean, creating the bonding surface the epoxy liner needs to adhere properly. For heavily root-affected sewers, this step may involve robotic root cutting before jetting.

Step 3 of 5

Step 3: Brawoliner® Epoxy Liner Installation

We measure and cut a Brawoliner® liner to the exact length of the damaged sewer section. The resin-saturated liner is inverted into the sewer pipe using calibrated air pressure, expanding it to coat the full internal circumference. For sewer mains, we use appropriately rated liner thickness to handle the pipe diameter and flow demands.

Step 4: Curing & Structural Hardening

The two-part epoxy resin cures and hardens to form a rigid, seamless fibreglass shell inside your existing sewer pipe. Curing time for sewer lines typically ranges from 3 to 6 hours depending on pipe diameter and ambient conditions. Once cured, the new lining is structurally independent — it does not rely on the host pipe for strength.

Step 5: Robotic Junction Reinstatement & Final CCTV Verification

Sewer pipes typically have multiple branch connections (junctions) from bathrooms, kitchens and laundries. After relining, we use precision robotic cutters to reopen every junction from inside the relined pipe. A final CCTV inspection confirms the lining is flawless, all junctions are flowing, and the rehabilitation meets our quality standards. You receive before-and-after CCTV footage and a certificate of completion.
